Premium Nutrition Facts

Get started with Premium Nutrition Facts Module, the most advanced Prestashop plugin,
to manage your products’ nutrition values and ingredients.

Requirements

Before you start, check that you have the minimum characteristics to ensure the Premium Nutrition Facts Module.

  • Prestashop: version 1.7.6.7 or above
  • PHP: version 7.2 or above

1.0 Installation process

Extract the plugin download package. Within the download package, you’ll find the following file structure and contents:

1.1 Classic Prestashop mode:

  1. Log in to the back office.
  2. Go to Modules -> Module Manager.
  3. Click on the top right corner button, „Upload a module„
  4. Drop your module archive or find the ZIP file in your files
  5. After uploaded click the „Configure” button
  6. It is all. From now on, your module will always be visible in 2 places:
    1. Catalog -> Premium Nutrition Facts
    2. Modules -> Module Manager and find „Premium Nutrition Facts„

Classic Prestashop mode

1.2 Manually via FTP 

  1. Unzip the module archive
  2. Upload unzipped folder directly to /modules in your Prestashop catalog.
  3. Log in to the back office.
  4. Go to Modules -> Module Manager and find module „Premium Nutrition Facts„
  5. In the row for this module, click Install.
  6. Locate the module again, click Configure

2.0 Adding new or edit nutrition fact

This point is the first step to start using our module. You need to add nutrition facts before you used in. All positions are you created will be visible in the dropdown on the product page.

Go to Catalog -> Premium Nutrition Facts. 

Here is the list of all ingredients in your shop.

2.1 Creating a new nutrition fact

  1. Click on the right top corner icon ⊕ to add a new value.
  2. Fill all necessary fields:
    1. Name – It’s the name of your nutrition fact. It will be visible on the product page.
    2. Unit – It’s a measure for your nutrition fact. For example, whey value should have a „g” unit.
    3. NRV – Nutrient reference values (NRVs) indicate the daily amount of nutrients (energy, macro-nutrients, vitamins, minerals) required for good health and a safe upper level of nutrient intake. Put how many units you need to take to get 100% NRV. 
    4. Parent – It defines sub value for your nutrition fact. If you don’t choose an option, this nutrition fact will be a parent.
    5. Description – Here, put all information about this nutrition fact. This description will also be visible on your product page on hover.
  3. After you filled all data now, click the button „Save” after you do that, you will be automatically redirected to a list of all values.

2.2 Edit existing value

To modify a selected item, you must go to the entire list and choose one specific thing. There is a button „Edit” or „View” on the right side. It depends if the product has a sub value or not. To edit, click the „Edit” button.

3.0 Settings values on the product page

Go to Catalog -> Products and choose the product you want to add nutritional value too. Our module will be visible on the „Modules” tab.

Now find „Premium Nutrition Facts” and click the button „Configure.” It would be best if you filled some fields to define one portion of your product, energy value for each part, and 100g.

Setting values for a simple product:

  1. Click on the button „Add new value.” 
  2. Choose from the list name of your nutrition fact.
  3. Set a value for portion and 100g.
  4. If you have extra ingredients or ingredients that can cause allergic reactions, fill the Textarea field below the nutrition facts table.
  5. After you add all necessary values, click the button „save.”

Setting values for a product with combinations:

  1. Click on the button „Add new value.” 
  2. Choose from the list name of your nutrition fact.
  3. Set a value for portion and 100g.
  4. Do this same for all combinations. You got tabs with all your attributes.
  5. If you have extra ingredients or ingredients that can cause allergic reactions, fill the Textarea field below the nutrition facts table.
  6. After you add all necessary values, click the button „save.”

4.0 Displaying nutrition facts on the product page

From the default table with nutrition facts will be visible in an extra tab next to the description. If you need to change it, Unhook it from the default place and set a shortcode in your product template.

How to Unhook Premium Nutrition Facts?

Go to Design -> Positions and find hook displayProductExtraContent, next just row with Premium Nutrition Facts and choose from the dropdown „Unhook.” 

To set a new place to display Your nutrition facts, place a shortcode into your product page template.
